Indian Archery Team Shines at Paris Olympics 2024
Dhiraj, Tarundeep, and Pravin Qualify for Quarterfinals
India’s archery team, featuring Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav, secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics 2024 by finishing third in the Men’s Archery Ranking Round with 2013 points.
South Korea topped the rankings with 2049 points, followed by France with 2025 points. China finished fourth with 1998 points. All four teams, including India, have directly qualified for the quarterfinals.
Dhiraj, who started in 11th place, made a remarkable comeback to finish 5th. Tarundeep Rai also performed well, ending in 14th place, while Pravin Jadhav finished in 39th place. Their combined efforts led India to a third-place finish.
Individual Performances
Tarundeep Rai began his first round with 55 points from his first six shots. He improved in the second round, scoring 113 points, and finished 14th with 337 points.
Dhiraj Bommadevara had a slow start but made a strong comeback. He scored 335 points in the first half and 346 points in the second half, finishing 5th overall.
Pravin Jadhav scored 217 points in the first half and finished with a total of 328 points, ranking 39th.
