Chhattisgarh Leaders Plant Trees for ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, his cabinet, Speaker, leader of the opposition, and members of the assembly took part in a sapling plantation drive in the residential complex of the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday. This event was part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Planting Trees for Mothers
Chief Minister Sai said, “Our Prime Minister has made an appeal to the entire country to plant a tree in the name of their mother and under the same campaign, we gather here to carry out a plantation drive in a 50-acre area.”
Together, the entire cabinet, Speaker, leader of the opposition, and members of the assembly planted saplings of various species, including Neem, Peepal, Ramfal, and Seetafal.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai planted a sapling in the name of his mother. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also participated. MLAs and senior officials of the state government planted saplings in the name of their mothers. More than a hundred saplings of different species were planted during the program.
Ecological Park Development
Forest department officials mentioned that an ecological park is being developed in a 50-acre area in the residential complex of the Vidhan Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on World Environment Day.
