Kiren Rijiju Defends Union Budget and Addresses NEET Controversy

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju praised the Union Budget, calling it ‘good’ and beneficial for the entire country. He criticized the opposition for misleading claims that the budget favors only Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Rijiju emphasized that the capital expenditure of Rs 11 lakh 11 thousand 111 crores is for infrastructure across the nation.

Rijiju stated, ‘From infrastructure to medical, giving relaxation to the middle-class people, facilities given to the farmers or giving a separate package to the tribal people, all that has been done for the country. It is wrong to say that the entire Union Budget is for 1 or 2 states.’

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024-25, making significant announcements for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, including infrastructure boosts and special financial support.

Addressing Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the NEET exam, Rijiju said the opposition is causing unnecessary ruckus. He noted that the Supreme Court found no systemic issues with the NEET-UG 2024 exam, despite acknowledging isolated leaks in Hazaribagh and Patna. ‘The Supreme Court has come out with a ruling and we all have to honour the judgement of the Supreme Court of India,’ Rijiju added.
