New Delhi [India], July 24: Major General (res.) Eyal Zamir, the Israeli Defence Ministry’s Director General, met with Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, on Tuesday. They discussed bilateral defence cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

The Indian Army shared on social media that the meeting covered various topics, including defence cooperation between the two countries.

India and Israel have a long history of strategic partnership. Their political ties are warm and forward-looking, with civilizational relations dating back over two millennia. India has welcomed Jews for centuries, and their contributions have enriched Indian culture.

Both countries have established consultation mechanisms in various sectors, including water, agriculture, counter-terrorism, and defence. Indian naval ships have made port calls in Haifa, and India participated in the Blue Flag-2021 Air Force exercise in Israel.
