Indian and Nepali Teams Search for Missing Buses in Trishuli River After Landslide
A 12-member team from India’s National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has joined Nepali search teams to locate two buses that went missing in the Trishuli River after a landslide on July 12. The buses, carrying 65 passengers, were swept away, and only three passengers managed to escape.
The Indian team arrived in Chitwan and began the search operation on Sunday morning, confirmed Chief District Officer Indra Dev Yadav. Rescue teams from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force (APF) have been searching since the incident but have not yet found the buses.
So far, 25 bodies have been found in different locations, and 17 people have been identified. The whereabouts of the two buses and 37 passengers remain unknown. Over 200 security personnel are involved in the search operation.
