Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 20: Forwards Vishal Mandade from Nagpur and Sanika Mane from Kolhapur will lead Hockey Maharashtra Junior Boys and Girls at the 2nd Hockey India Junior Men’s and Women’s West Zone Hockey Championship 2024 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.

Boys’ Team

The boys’ team will compete in an all-play-all league format against Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Chhattisgarh, Hockey Gujarat, and Goan Hockey. The top two teams will play in the final.

Girls’ Team

The girls’ section is divided into two groups and will play in a league cum knock-out format. Hockey Maharashtra is in Pool-B with Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Diu & Daman, Goa Hockey, and Hockey Rajasthan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

Upcoming Matches

The boys’ team will play against hosts Chhattisgarh, while the girls’ team will face Goa on Sunday.

Training Camp

Before their departure, both teams attended a 15-day selection-cum-conditioning camp under the guidance of Olympians Ajit Lakra and Vikram Pillay at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri.
