Heavy rains in Porbandar, Junagadh, and Devbhumi Dwarka districts in Gujarat have caused severe waterlogging in many areas. This has led to traffic problems and the closure of some roads, causeways, and underpasses, making life difficult for the people.

Flooded Temples and Devotees

A priest mentioned that although the rain in Porbandar has stopped for the last 18 hours, some areas, including the famous Rokadiya Hanuman temple, are still flooded. Despite the flooding, devotees continue to visit the temple with offerings.

Railway Track Restoration

Restoration work is ongoing on the railway tracks in Porbandar, which were affected by the heavy rains. Bhavnagar Railway Division DRM Ravish Kumar stated that Porbandar received around 300 mm of rain in a few hours, causing water to accumulate on the tracks. Rail operations were halted, and the Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Porbandar Superfast Express was stopped at Bhanvad town, briefly stranding 250 passengers.

Waterlogging in Mumbai

Meanwhile, Mumbai also experienced heavy rains, leading to severe waterlogging in several parts of the city. Roads have been closed, and traffic has been diverted. Commuters on the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle were seen making their way through the rain.
