Man Arrested for Threatening Uttar Pradesh SDM
Chandan Singh’s Crime Spree Unveiled
A man named Chandan Singh, also known as Sanjay Singh, was arrested by the police in Meerut for allegedly threatening a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The arrest was made after the SDM of Nakur filed a First Information Report (FIR) on July 10, reporting continuous threatening calls and abusive language from the accused.
Saharanpur Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Sagar Jain stated that the police registered a case at Nakur Police Station and traced multiple mobile numbers used by the accused. Chandan Singh was eventually arrested in Sardhana, Meerut. The police recovered 11 SIM cards and 3 mobile phones from him, including the SIM card used to call the SDM.
Chandan Singh, a resident of Ballia, has been involved in similar crimes before and has 23 cases registered against him. He also has a reward of Rs 15,000 under the Gangster Act in Gorakhpur district. The Saharanpur Police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to his arrest on July 13.
SP Jain mentioned that Chandan Singh admitted to impersonating personal assistants (PAs) of public representatives and committing similar crimes in the past. He is now being produced before the court.
