New Health Centers and Bird Gallery Open in Uttarakhand

Health Initiatives

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar announced the establishment of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) centers in Almora, Tanakpur, Srinagar, and Karnaprayag. These centers will provide free medicines, regular checkups, and consultations for HIV-positive patients.

Currently, ART centers are operational in Government Medical College, Srinagar, and Sub District Hospital, Karnaprayag, benefiting around 350 patients. An additional center will soon be set up in Soban Singh Jeena Medical College, Almora, aiding another 300 patients who previously had to travel to Haldwani for treatment.

Bird Gallery in Dehradun

The Uttarakhand Forest Department has inaugurated the state’s first bird gallery at the Nature Education Centre in Jolly Grant, Dehradun. This gallery features high-resolution images of various birds found in Uttarakhand, including the Himalayan Monal, White-capped Redstart, Himalayan Griffon, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, and Black-headed Jay.

The gallery is organized into ten sections, each showcasing different categories of birds such as ground foraging birds, raptors, woodpeckers, water birds, pheasants, migratory birds, arboreal birds, bulbuls, kingfishers, and vultures.
