Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Praises Diljit Dosanjh, Faces Criticism from BJP

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently praised Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh for his success in Canada. Trudeau made a surprise visit to the Rogers Centre in Toronto to wish Dosanjh good luck before his performance. In a social media post, Trudeau highlighted Canada’s diversity and Dosanjh’s achievements, saying, ‘Canada is a great country — one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn’t just our strength. It’s a super power.’

However, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized Trudeau for not mentioning India in his praise. Sirsa stated that Trudeau’s omission hurt the dignity of his position as Prime Minister. ‘A Prime Minister should not have done this as the post of Prime Minister has a very big dignity. He should have maintained that dignity and tweeted accordingly,’ Sirsa said in a video message. He also replied to Trudeau’s post, calling it a ‘deliberate mischief through wordplay.’

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh continues to entertain his fans with tours across the globe. He was recently seen playing the lead role in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’
