SpiceJet Employee Claims Harassment by CISF Officer at Jaipur Airport

A SpiceJet employee at Jaipur Airport has accused CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Giriraj Prasad of making derogatory remarks towards her. The incident occurred on July 11 at 4:30 am when the employee was performing her duties. She claims that ASI Prasad made inappropriate comments and threatened to have her removed from her job when she warned him of filing a police complaint.

The situation escalated when the employee slapped ASI Prasad, leading to her arrest. She stated that the ASI filed a complaint against her before she could do so. The employee emphasized her familiarity with SpiceJet’s rules and regulations, refuting claims that she was forcing her way inside without a valid card.

SpiceJet issued an official statement supporting their employee, asserting that she had a valid airport entry pass and was subjected to unacceptable language by the CISF personnel. The airline has committed to taking immediate legal action, describing the incident as a serious case of sexual harassment.

SpiceJet’s statement read, “Today, an unfortunate incident occurred at Jaipur Airport involving a SpiceJet female security staff member and a male CISF personnel. While escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate, our female security staff member, who had a valid airport entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India’s civil aviation security regulator, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him after his duty hours at his home.”

The airline added, “SpiceJet is taking immediate legal action in this serious case of sexual harassment against its female employee and has approached the local police. We stand firmly by our employee and are committed to providing her with full support.”
