Jarmanpreet Singh’s Journey: From Setback to Paris Olympics 2024

In 2015, Jarmanpreet Singh was seen as a future star in Indian hockey when he was picked by the Punjab franchise in the Hockey India League. He was set to play in the Junior World Cup in 2016, alongside future stars like Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh. However, a failed dope test due to a medical injection for back pain led to a two-year ban, putting his career on hold.

Despite this setback, Jarmanpreet remained persistent. In 2018, he showcased his skills in the Hockey India Senior Men National Championship and was selected for the national program. His determination paid off, and he made his Senior India debut.

Now, Jarmanpreet is preparing for his first Olympic appearance in Paris 2024. He is currently in Switzerland with the team for a mental conditioning camp. He expressed his excitement and eagerness to start the campaign, which begins on July 27 against New Zealand.
