Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj Leads Tree Planting Drive with Students
On Friday, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj planted a sapling as part of a plantation drive in New Delhi. He encouraged everyone to plant trees to protect the environment. Bharadwaj highlighted the importance of trees, especially in Delhi where temperatures have reached 52 degrees.
Participation of Students
Students from schools around Greater Kailash joined the event, with around 600 students each planting a tree. Bharadwaj expressed hope that this experience would help students understand the importance of trees.
Ongoing Plantation Drive
Earlier, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced a plantation drive from July 11 to August 9 at 30 different locations in Delhi. Nearly two crore saplings have been planted in the last four years, achieving the target set by the Delhi government.
Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign
As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, students from Hillwoods Academy in Preet Vihar planted trees and pledged to protect the environment and combat climate change.
