Karnataka Minister Sharan Prakash Patil Visits GIMS Hospital Amid Rising Dengue Cases
Karnataka Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil visited Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital (GIMS) to assess the dengue situation. He stated that the situation is under control with only four cases in the hospital and 19 cases treated in OPD.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party President BY Vijayendra criticized the state government for not taking the dengue issue seriously. He mentioned that the government is not concerned, and dengue cases and deaths are increasing. Vijayendra also criticized Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for focusing on real estate rather than state development.
Karnataka has reported over 7000 dengue cases. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah instructed officials to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and allocate 10 beds in a ward at every hospital for dengue cases. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao emphasized strict monitoring and preventive measures, including house-to-house visits by Asha workers and volunteers.
