Indian Army Rescues Trekker Debasmita Rana in Jammu and Kashmir

The Indian Army performed a heroic rescue on Wednesday, saving Debasmita Rana, a 30-year-old trekker from West Bengal. She experienced breathlessness and lost consciousness while trekking at 11,700 feet in the Gangbal lake area of the Kangan subdivision in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir.

Swift Rescue by 34 Assam Rifles

The Medical Officer and his team from 34 Assam Rifles at Trunkhal Army Camp quickly responded to the emergency. They provided continuous oxygen supply to Debasmita, who was brought to the camp in an unconscious state. Their prompt actions resuscitated her and saved her life.

Gratitude from Debasmita and Co-Trekkers

Debasmita, now recovering at Kangan Trauma Centre, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the army personnel. She said, “I am eternally grateful to 34 ASSAM RIFLES and their heroic team. They are true heroes, and my words can’t fully express the depth of my gratitude. They saved my life, and for that, I’ll be forever thankful. Thank you, Indian Army, for giving me a second chance of life.” Her co-trekkers also thanked and appreciated the efforts of the Medical Officer and his team.
