Pune Police Arrest Three for Abducting and Killing Amir Shaikh Over Marriage Dispute
Pimpri Chinchwad Police in Pune, Maharashtra, have arrested three individuals for abducting and killing Amir Shaikh, who married against his in-laws’ wishes, according to police officials on Tuesday.
Details of the Case
The deceased, Amir Shaikh, was reported missing by his wife, Nikita Gaikwad, on June 15. Amir’s father also filed a complaint on June 27, suspecting foul play, said DCP Pimpri Chinchwad Police Shivaji Pawar.
Background
Investigations revealed that Nikita’s family, originally from Ahmednagar district, opposed the marriage. Despite this, the couple settled in Pune four months ago. The police found that the husband of Nikita’s sister, along with other relatives, conspired to abduct and kill Amir.
Current Status
Three accused have been arrested, while one remains at large. A police team has been formed to apprehend the absconding accused, and further investigation is underway.
