Congress Leader Varsha Gaikwad Calls Worli Hit-and-Run a Murder

On Tuesday, Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad met Pradeep Nakhwa, the husband of Kaveri Nakhwa, who was tragically killed when a BMW hit their bike. Gaikwad stated that the incident should be considered murder, not just a hit-and-run, as the driver did not stop and dragged Kaveri for a long distance.

Gaikwad criticized the Mumbai Police for taking three days to arrest the accused, Mihir Shah, and questioned why CCTV footage has not been provided. She urged the police to include murder charges in the case.

A Mumbai court extended the police custody of Rajesh Shah’s driver, Rajrishi Singh Bidawat, until July 11. Bidawat was with Mihir Shah during the incident. The police argued that they need to interrogate both together, while the defense claimed there is no evidence against the driver.

Mihir Shah was arrested after being on the run. Pradeep Nakhwa alleged that the delay in arrest was due to political influence, as Mihir is the son of a political leader.
