Jairam Ramesh Questions PM Modi’s Russia Visit, Rahul Gandhi Visits Manipur

New Delhi, India – Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia, raising several questions. He asked if PM Modi would address the unsustainable trade deficit between India and Russia and the issue of 50 Indian youths fighting in the Russian army due to unemployment in India.

Jairam Ramesh pointed out that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh met Russian leaders 16 times in 10 years, while PM Modi has met them 11 times, questioning if this indicates a cooling of relations. He also highlighted the trade imbalance, with India importing $46 billion from Russia but exporting only $3.5 billion.

Additionally, Ramesh raised concerns about Indian youths joining the Russian army, questioning the recruitment process and its political links.

PM Modi left for a two-nation visit to Russia and Austria, aiming to deepen ties with these countries. He expressed his excitement about interacting with the Indian community there.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi visited Manipur for the third time to meet victims of violence at relief camps. He emphasized that their pain is shared by the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi’s visit included a meeting with Governor Anusuiya Uikey and a press conference at the Manipur Congress office.

The Congress party’s official handle posted about Rahul Gandhi’s visit, highlighting his commitment to supporting the victims of violence in Manipur.
