Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and President Droupadi Murmu Celebrate Jagannath Rath Yatra
In Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy kicked off the nine-day-long Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra near NTR Stadium. This event was organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Meanwhile, in Ujjain, the city echoed with chants of ‘Krishna Krishna Radhe Radhe’ as devotees pulled the Lord’s chariot. For the first time, three chariots were included in Ujjain’s Rath Yatra, featuring Lord Baldev, Maharani Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath.
In Indore, ISKCON temple president Mahaman Das highlighted the global celebration of the festival, encouraging people to join in. Thousands of devotees gathered in Odisha’s Puri for the two-day Rath Yatra, where AI technology was used for crowd management. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their wishes to the citizens, emphasizing the festival’s significance. Bhubaneswar-based artist L Eswar Rao created eco-friendly chariots using papers and incense sticks, adding a unique touch to the celebrations.
