Yogi Adityanath’s Plan to Protect Uttar Pradesh from Floods

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), July 5: The government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has made extensive preparations to manage potential floods in the state. A total of 612 flood posts have been established in 24 highly sensitive and 16 sensitive areas, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) deployed to these posts.

In a recent high-level meeting, CM Yogi instructed officials to remain alert and strengthen flood preparations. Following these directives, officials quickly executed the necessary preparations. Principal Secretary Revenue P Guru Prasad confirmed that additional flood posts are being set up, and boats and sailors have been deployed in all flood-affected districts.

To support residents in flood-affected areas, the government has allocated Rs 10 crore. Two types of food packets will be distributed, containing essential items like food, candles, tarpaulin, and bathing soap. The tender process for food grains has been completed in 39 out of 40 districts.

Relief Commissioner GS Naveen mentioned that mock drills have been conducted by the SDRF, NDRF, and PAC in 25 districts as part of pre-flood preparedness. Additionally, 4700 Rahat Chaupals were organized to educate people on how to protect themselves and their cattle during floods.

Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh recently visited Badaun to assess the situation after heavy rainfall. He inspected embankments and assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to protect people living near the Ganga river banks. He also appealed to the public to keep the Ganga river clean and be cautious.
