Hemant Soren Becomes Chief Minister of Jharkhand Again

Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand by Governor CP Radhakrishnan. The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, where Soren emphasized that his government has always worked in the interest of the people.

Governor’s Expectations

Governor CP Radhakrishnan expressed his hopes that the new government will focus on addressing issues affecting the poor. He stated, “We go by the constitution. We all have to address the problems of poor people. That’s what I am expecting from the new government.”

Background

Hemant Soren was released from Birsa Munda Jail on June 28 after nearly five months, following bail from Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. He had resigned as Chief Minister before his arrest on January 31. Champai Soren resigned from the post just five months after taking the oath, setting the stage for Hemant Soren’s return.

Previous Tenure

Earlier, on December 29, Hemant Soren took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. The event was termed ‘Sankalp Diwas’ to mark the beginning of a new era for Jharkhand.
