Team India Returns Home After Winning ICC T20 World Cup in Barbados

The Indian cricket team returned to Delhi after winning the ICC T20 World Cup in Barbados, ending an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. The team, along with support staff and families, was stuck in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, which shut down the Grantley Adams International Airport for three days. A special flight organized by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah brought them back to Delhi.

India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final, with Virat Kohli scoring 76 runs and Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah delivering key bowling performances. Bumrah was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ for his 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17.

The team celebrated their victory on the flight, with players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, and Yuzvendra Chahal posing with the trophy. Jasprit Bumrah was seen holding his son Angad and the trophy.

Upon arrival, the team stayed at the ITC Maurya hotel and will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A special cake featuring the T20 World Cup trophy will be cut to celebrate the win. The team will also have an open-top bus ride in Mumbai at Marine Drive and the Wankhede Stadium to celebrate with fans.
