Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma Joins ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign by PM Modi

Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day.

The campaign encourages people to plant trees in honor of their mothers to fight climate change and reduce pollution. PM Modi launched the campaign by planting a peepal tree at Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi and urged everyone to participate and share their tree-planting stories on social media.

Minister’s Statement

Minister Varma stated, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign is a call for all of us to take care of our environment. This small act can help fight climate change, reduce pollution, and make the surroundings greener.”

He thanked Prime Minister Modi for his leadership and the Ministry of Steel and Heavy Industries for organizing the event.

Prime Minister’s Appeal

Prime Minister Modi, in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, emphasized the importance of the campaign, saying, “If I ask you which is the most precious relationship in the world, you will definitely say – ‘Mother’. In all our lives, the status of ‘mother’ is the highest.”

He added, “I have appealed to all my countrymen, people of all the countries of the world to plant a tree along with their mother or in her name. I am very happy to see that the campaign of planting trees in the memory or honor of Mother is progressing rapidly.”
