Rajasthan CM stated, “For a long time, there was a demand for this project in both the states but there should be a craving to take Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan forward. I want to thank CM Mohan Yadav for organizing this event. This scheme will take our states ahead.”

He also mentioned that PM Modi has given a concrete shape to the draft of the agreement of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) between the two states. “The farmers of the state will also prosper. Both the states and the centre will work together to take this scheme forward. This scheme will strengthen the relationship between the two states,” he added.

The PKC link project aims to provide drinking and industrial water to 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan, Malwa, and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh. It will also provide irrigation to 2.8 lakh hectares in each state, totaling 5.6 lakh hectares. The project will help in utilizing the available water resources of the Chambal basin optimally and economically. The various components of the Modified PKC link, including areas of benefit, will be firmed up at the DPR stage in consultation with both states.
