Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Meets PM Modi to Discuss State’s Key Projects

Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss important projects for the state’s development. Siddaramaiah submitted a detailed letter highlighting key demands and priorities for Karnataka’s progress.

Key Projects Discussed

The CM requested approval for several significant projects:

  • Mekedatu Dam Project: A Rs 9,000 crore project to provide drinking water to Bangalore and generate 400 MW of electricity.
  • Bhadra Upper Bank Project: Requested Rs 5,300 crore for this project as announced in the Central Government Budget 2023-2024.
  • Kalasa Banduri Drinking Water Project: Aimed at solving the drinking water problem in the Kittoor Karnataka region.

Additional Requests

The CM also requested:

  • Funds for a Rs 3,000 crore tunnel to decongest Bangalore, connecting National Highway 7 to National Highway 4.
  • Approval of Rs 15,611 crore for the Bengaluru Metro Rail’s 3rd phase.
  • A special grant of Rs 6,000 crore for the development of lakes and peripheral ring road.
  • Increased grants for the development of seven districts of Kalyan Karnataka and inclusion of new programs in the central government’s development aspiring district program.

Siddaramaiah expressed his commitment to working together with the central government for the state’s growth and prosperity.
