The sacred doors of Shri Badrinath Dham in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, were closed for the winter season on Sunday at 9:07 PM. The temple was beautifully adorned with 15 quintals of marigold flowers, and the atmosphere was filled with the devotional music of the Garhwal Scout band.

The closure marks the end of this year’s Chardham Yatra. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari visited the temple to ensure all arrangements were in place. He commended the efforts of the ‘environmental’ friends, police, ITBP, and temple committee for maintaining security throughout the pilgrimage.

Earlier, the doors of Kedarnath Dham were also closed for winter, following Vedic rituals and traditional chants. The doors of Gangotri Dham were closed on November 2, and the holy Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Laxman temple on October 10. The second Kedar Madmaheshwar Ji will close on November 20.
