Anupriya Singh Patel’s Visit to Saudi Arabia

Meeting with Saudi Health Minister

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Singh Patel, met with Saudi Arabia’s Health Minister, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al Jaljel, in Jeddah. They discussed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership in the health sector between India and Saudi Arabia.

Addressing Antimicrobial Resistance

Patel also spoke at the 4th High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Jeddah. She emphasized the need for a ‘One Health’ approach to tackle AMR, which involves cooperation across human, animal, and plant health sectors. India supports the creation of an AMR Multi-partner Trust Fund and an Independent Panel on Evidence for Action against AMR by 2025.

Engagement with Indian Community

During her visit, Patel met with the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, acknowledging their role in strengthening India-Saudi relations. She expressed happiness in meeting the 26 lakh Indians residing in Saudi Arabia, who contribute to the progress of both nations.
