Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan
In Balochistan, Pakistan, the armed forces have reportedly abducted several individuals, causing concern among the local population. Recently, six more individuals were abducted during raids in Kech, Kharan, and Dera Bugti districts. Among them were Ismail, a shopkeeper, Imran, a student, and Liaquat Ali from Kech district. Waseem, son of Saeed Ahmed, was taken from Kharan, while Talal, son of Umar, and Amir Baloch, son of Ibrahim, were abducted from Kadan.
These enforced disappearances have instilled fear among the Baloch people. Balochistan is a region with ongoing political instability and conflict, particularly between independence movements and the state.
