President Zelenskyy Condemns Russian Attacks on Ukrainian Cities
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has strongly criticized Russia for its recent attacks on Ukraine, which have caused fear and destruction in peaceful areas. Over the last day, Russian forces targeted several regions, including Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia, using artillery, drones, and guided bombs.
In a message shared online, Zelenskyy highlighted the continuous shelling by Russia, which has affected regions like Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Kherson, Sumy, and Chernihiv. The attacks have led to significant damage to homes, a heating main, a school, a church, and the port area. Tragically, one person lost their life, and ten others were injured, including two children.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to those involved in rescue operations and emphasized the need for more air defense systems and increased sanctions on Russia. He noted that on Wednesday, Russian forces launched a massive attack involving ballistic and cruise missiles aimed at Kyiv, which were intercepted by Ukraine’s air defense.
The ongoing conflict, which intensified in February 2022 with Russia’s invasion, has resulted in numerous civilian casualties. Despite international condemnation, Russia denies targeting civilians. Ukraine continues to strengthen its defenses with support from Western allies, but the scale of Russian attacks highlights the need for more advanced defense capabilities.
