Assam Rifles and Anti-Narcotics Squad Seize Heroin in Mizoram
In Aizawl, Mizoram, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and the Excise & Narcotics Anti-Narcotics Squad led to the seizure of 55 grams of heroin worth Rs 35.75 lakh. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including two Indian nationals and one Myanmarese national. The raid occurred in the Electric Veng Sec-3 area, based on specific intelligence.
The heroin was found in a transparent white polythene bag, and a Suzuki Burgman scooter linked to the smuggling was also seized. All items and suspects were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Squad for further action.

Assam Rifles, known as the “Sentinels of the Northeast,” continue to combat smuggling in Mizoram. They emphasize the ongoing smuggling of contraband as a significant concern for the state and India. Their efforts have intensified to capture the leaders of these illegal activities.
Recent Operations
On November 12 and 13, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with local law enforcement, seized heroin and illegal Areca Nuts valued at Rs 1.5 crore in Aizawl and Champhai districts. Five individuals were apprehended in four operations. These operations highlight the persistent smuggling challenges in Mizoram and the dedication of law enforcement to address them.
