Ajit Pawar Clarifies Gautam Adani’s Involvement in Maharashtra Government Formation
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently addressed a previous statement regarding industrialist Gautam Adani’s involvement in government formation discussions in the state. Pawar admitted to making a mistake in his earlier comments, clarifying that Adani was not present at any such meetings. He explained that meetings were held in various locations, including Adani’s guest house, but emphasized that industrialists had no role in forming the government.
Pawar also dismissed any suggestions of being pressured into making his statement, asserting his independence and lack of influence from others. He addressed opposition claims about industries moving to Gujarat, labeling them as false and highlighting Maharashtra’s leading position in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are actively campaigning for the 288 assembly seats. The elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
