Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paramedics Plan Protest for Better Pay and Conditions
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paramedical Association (KPPA) has announced a sit-in protest in Peshawar on November 25. They are demanding post upgradation, salary increases, and pension raises. Khalid Khan, the district president of the association, stated that they have been fighting for their rights for months without success. He warned that if the government does not meet their demands, they will start indefinite street protests.
Paramedics from the Hazara division and Mansehra are expected to join the protest in large numbers. The KPPA is calling for equal pay after post upgradation, increased salaries, and pensions for healthcare workers, and to prevent any cuts in post-upgradation remunerations. The protest is expected to draw significant attention as paramedics express their dissatisfaction with the government’s response to their demands.
Recently, teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also protested for similar reasons. Thousands of teachers, led by the All Primary Teachers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Azizullah, participated in a protest demanding post upgradation. The unrest among public sector employees, including healthcare and education workers, highlights the growing demand for better compensation and working conditions in the region.
