Students in Prayagraj Protest Against UPPSC Exam Changes
In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, students are protesting against the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The District Magistrate, Ravindra Kumar Mandar, stated that the students are unwilling to engage in discussions with the administration and the Commission to resolve their issues. Despite efforts to communicate, the students have rejected these attempts.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya assured support for the students, emphasizing that the government is taking their demands seriously and has instructed officials to find a solution. The students, preparing for UPPSC exams, held a candlelight march, marking the third day of protests outside the UPPSC building.
The candidates are demanding that the UPPSC exams, particularly the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) exams, be conducted in a single shift, as was previously done. They believe this change will ensure fairness and manageability. The protests began after UPPSC announced that the RO-ARO exams would be held over two days in multiple shifts.
