UPPSC Candidates Protest in Prayagraj for Single Shift Exams
In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, students preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) exams have been protesting for three consecutive days. They are demanding that the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) exams be conducted in a single shift, as it was done previously. The students believe this change will make the exams fairer and more manageable.
On Wednesday, the protestors held a candlelight march outside the UPPSC building. Earlier, they were seen chanting slogans at the UPPSC Gate No-2. The protest has led to a political row in Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against 12 individuals for vandalism during the protests. According to Prayagraj Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Bharti, some miscreants broke barriers and destroyed coaching boards, leading to police action.
UPPSC officials have visited the protest site to discuss policies and seek suggestions from the protestors. Despite unsuccessful talks with authorities, the students remain determined to continue their peaceful protest, calling in more peers and preparing to stay until their demands are met.
