Imran Khan Calls for Nationwide Protests and March to Islamabad
Imran Khan, the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced a nationwide protest and a march to Islamabad on November 24. This announcement was made by his sister, Aleema Khan, after meeting him at Adiala Jail. Imran Khan urged his supporters to take to the streets, expressing frustration over alleged vote theft and the erosion of judicial independence in Pakistan.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, stated that a committee has been formed to organize the march, but he withheld the names to prevent arrests. The protest is being called a “final protest call,” demanding the revocation of the 26th Constitutional Amendment act, restoration of the PTI mandate, and the release of detained individuals without trial. Ali Amin Gandapur, a senior PTI leader, will lead the protest from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations, mentioned that this protest could mark the end of the current coalition government. Imran Khan’s call is seen as a direct challenge to the government, aiming for what PTI describes as “true democracy” in Pakistan.
