Congress Leader Pawan Khera Challenges BJP on Scheme Implementation
In Mumbai, Congress leader Pawan Khera criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and dared them to send any leader to visit Congress-governed states to witness the implementation of their schemes. This challenge was in response to BJP’s repeated claims about the Congress’s failure to implement promised schemes. Khera stated, “We challenge the BJP to nominate any leader to visit any Congress-governed state… Let them go around every district of these states and see how our schemes are being implemented. Otherwise, they should stop lying… They don’t know how to manage the economy. They take a 40 per cent commission on every project… We have proved it in Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh.”
He further mentioned that during Manmohan Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister, the economy was stable and the GDP was growing despite the implementation of various schemes. Khera also pointed out internal conflicts within the ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, contrasting it with the unity in the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). As the campaigning for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra intensifies, both the Mahayuti and MVA are striving to win over voters. The elections are set for November 20, with the counting of votes on November 23.
