The 14th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship continued with thrilling matches at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai. Teams from across India showcased their skills, resulting in significant wins and a competitive draw.
Hockey Punjab’s Dominant Performance
Hockey Punjab delivered a commanding 10-1 victory over Chhattisgarh Hockey in Pool A. Key players included Gursahibjit Singh and Balwinder Singh, each scoring twice, along with contributions from Ravneet Singh, Pardeep Singh, Angad Bir Singh, Maninder Singh, Gurjinder Singh, and Sudarshan Singh. Chhattisgarh’s sole goal came from Captain Tarun Yadav.

Hockey Mizoram’s Victory in Pool B
Hockey Mizoram secured a 6-3 win against Hockey Himachal. Trishul Ganapathi led the scoring, supported by Mohit Kathoute, Stalin Abhilash, Zothanpuia, and Lalramhlua. Hockey Himachal’s goals were scored by Harsh and Dharmesh Singh.
Draw in Pool G
Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Jharkhand ended in a 2-2 draw. Sayyad Niaz Rahim and Captain Devindar Sunil Walmiki scored for Maharashtra, while Captain Simon Bodra and Love Light Kujur scored for Jharkhand.
Hockey Bengal’s Impressive Win
Hockey Bengal achieved a remarkable 12-2 victory over Hockey Bihar in Pool H. Nitish Neupane scored a hat-trick, with Captain Rajendra Oram, Amon Mirash Tirkey, and Alsem Lakra each scoring twice. Additional goals came from Raushan Kumar, Tarun Adhikari, and Santosh Baxla. Hockey Bihar’s goals were scored by Saurav Kumar and Anuj Raj.
