As India gears up for a four-match T20I series against South Africa, two Indian cricketers, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya, are on the brink of achieving significant milestones. Arshdeep Singh, who debuted in T20Is in 2022 against England, has played 56 matches and taken 87 wickets with an economy rate of 8.28. In the recent series against Bangladesh, he took four wickets in two innings at an average of 10.00. Arshdeep is aiming to become India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is and the first Indian to reach 100 wickets in this format.

Hardik Pandya, who debuted in 2016 against Australia, has also taken 87 wickets in 105 matches with an economy rate of 8.17. In the recent Bangladesh series, he took one wicket in two innings. Both Arshdeep and Hardik are eyeing the record currently held by Yuzvendra Chahal, who has 96 wickets from 80 matches at an economy rate of 8.19.

Jasprit Bumrah, another top Indian pacer, will not be part of this series as he is resting for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Bumrah has 89 wickets from 70 matches with an economy rate of 6.27.

The T20I series against South Africa starts on November 8 at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium in Durban, followed by matches at St George’s Park in Gqeberha, SuperSport Park in Centurion, and concluding at Wanderers Stadium on November 15.
