Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize Explosives and Illegal Goods
In a significant operation against illegal trafficking, the Assam Rifles, in partnership with the Mizoram Police, successfully intercepted a large quantity of explosives and war-like materials. The operation took place on the Serchhip-Thenzawl road, where a mobile vehicle checking post was set up based on specific intelligence. During the inspection, a white vehicle carrying two individuals was stopped, leading to the discovery of 9,600 Gelatin sticks, 9,400 Detonators, and over 1,800 meters of Cordtex. The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the Mizoram Police for further investigation.
In a separate operation, the Assam Rifles, along with the Excise and Narcotics Department and Customs Preventive Force, seized heroin and illegal areca nuts worth Rs 1.01 crore in the Champhai district of Mizoram. Three individuals, including a Myanmar national, were apprehended. The operations highlight the ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities in the region.
