Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan Criticizes INDI Bloc Ahead of Jharkhand Assembly Polls
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan expressed criticism towards the INDI bloc before the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. He accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress party of not fulfilling their past promises and introducing new ones without delivering results. Chauhan stated that the INDI bloc’s promises are unreliable, claiming that people do not trust them, while the BJP always keeps its promises.
On Tuesday, the INDI bloc released a joint manifesto for the Jharkhand assembly polls, pledging seven guarantees. These include an LPG cylinder at Rs 450, 10 lakh jobs, 7 kg ration per person, the implementation of the Sarna Religion Code, a Rs 2,500 honorarium for women, and increased reservations for ST, SC, and OBC communities. The manifesto was unveiled by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders, including Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The Jharkhand Assembly, consisting of 81 members, will hold elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.
