Sri Lanka Announces Squad for New Zealand Series
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has revealed the team lineup for the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand. The announcement includes the return of Kusal Perera to the ODI squad after a year-long absence. Mohamed Shiraz, a seamer with an impressive record in List A cricket, has also been added to the ODI squad.
All-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe, along with spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, and Dunith Wellalage, will participate in both the ODI and T20I matches. Star seamers Matheesha Pathirana and Nuwan Thushara are set to play in the T20I squad only.
Charith Asalanka will captain the team in both formats. The T20I squad remains unchanged from the recent series against the West Indies, which Sri Lanka won 2-1. The T20I series will start on November 9 at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, with the second match on November 10.
The ODI series will begin on November 13 at the same venue, with subsequent matches on November 17 and 19 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
