In Washington DC, students gathered at Howard University to show their support for Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate. Ariana, a student, expressed her belief in Harris, stating, “I voted for Kamala and I think she is going to win because we need to fight for reproductive freedom.”

Another student shared her excitement about voting for the first time, emphasizing the importance of having a black woman potentially becoming the President of the United States. She said, “This election means so much to me, this is the first election being able to vote. Having a black woman almost becoming the President of US, is so important to me because I am a black woman, double minority.” She hopes Harris will represent her rights and aspirations.

Tevin Davis, another student, expressed confidence in Harris’s victory, stating, “I think Kamala Harris will be winning today, I have no doubt in my mind that Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States, the first woman president.” He criticized Donald Trump, saying Harris will lead the country forward.
