Women Reservation in Government Jobs
A significant cabinet meeting took place in Bhopal, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The council of ministers approved a 35% reservation for women in all Madhya Pradesh government service recruitments, an increase from the previous 33%. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla emphasized this as a major step towards empowering women in the state.
New Fertiliser Sales Centres
The cabinet also approved the opening of 254 new fertiliser sales centres. This initiative aims to ease access for farmers, allowing them to purchase fertilisers with cash, reducing long queues.
Power Plant and Recruitment Age Changes
Plans to establish a 660 MW thermal power plant in Sarni were approved, replacing older units. Additionally, the recruitment age for Assistant Professors in Medical Colleges has been increased from 40 to 50 years.
Regional Industrial Conclave Success
The recent Regional Industrial Conclave in Rewa attracted 4,000 investors, resulting in investment proposals worth Rs 31,000 crores and creating over 28,000 jobs. These conclaves are part of the lead-up to the “Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investor Summit-2025” scheduled for February in Bhopal.
