Mumbai Police Investigate Murder of NCP Leader Baba Siddiqui
The Mumbai Police are investigating the murder of Baba Siddiqui, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The weapons used in the crime were traced back to Rajasthan. The Mumbai Crime Branch has deployed five teams outside Maharashtra to find the suspects, with active searches in Haryana for Zeeshan, the alleged mastermind.
Recently, another weapon was recovered from the house of Rupesh Mohol in Pune, marking the fifth weapon found in the case. The Crime Branch is still searching for one more weapon and three live cartridges, believing that six weapons were brought to Mumbai for the murder plot. Earlier, a weapon was found at the residence of Ram Fulchand Kanoujia in Raigad, Maharashtra.
So far, 15 people have been arrested, with 10 in judicial custody. Baba Siddiqui, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead on October 12 near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Nirmal Nagar, Mumbai. The gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the murder.
