Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 26: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav honored Loktantra Senanis, who were detained under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA), and made several announcements for them on Wednesday.

Inclusion in Academic Curriculum

CM Yadav announced that the story of the Emergency struggle will be included in the academic curriculum. This will highlight the circumstances, oppression, and spirit of the Loktantra Senanis to educate the present generation about the hardships faced during the Emergency.

New Facilities for Loktantra Senanis

Several new facilities will be available for Loktantra Senanis:

  • Three-day stays in Circuit Houses and Rest Houses with a 50 percent discount on fares.
  • Tamra Patras for those who have not yet received them.
  • Discounts at toll plazas upon presenting their passes.
  • Medical expenses through Ayushman card paid within three months.
  • Air ambulance for serious health issues to major hospitals or metropolitan cities.
  • 25 percent discount on air taxi fares.
  • Funerals with national honors and increased funeral assistance from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.

Employment Opportunities

Employment opportunities for the family members of Loktantra Senanis will be facilitated through training for establishing industries or other business activities.

Achievements Under PM Modi

CM Yadav mentioned that the objectives for which the Loktantra Senanis had struggled seem to be fulfilled during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Examples include the abrogation of Article 370, triple talaq, and good governance. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the country has efficiently faced both internal and external challenges.
