Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Visits Injured
On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Ram Dutt Joshi Government Combined Hospital in Ramnagar to meet those injured in a tragic bus accident in Almora district. The accident resulted in the death of over 35 people and injured several others when a bus carrying around 50 passengers fell into a deep gorge.
During his visit, CM Dhami, accompanied by BJP MP Anil Baluni, expressed his condolences and assured strict action against those responsible. He also ordered a magisterial inquiry and canceled all his scheduled programs to focus on the incident. CM Dhami stated that the seriously injured have been airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh and Sushila Tiwari Hospital Haldwani for better treatment.
Uttarakhand Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat announced that the state government would provide Rs 1 lakh to the injured and Rs 4 lakhs to the families of the deceased. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. PM Modi expressed his condolences and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Rescue and relief operations are ongoing, and the local administration is making every effort to assist those affected by the accident.
