Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh will head the Indian delegation at the 10th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) in Brasilia, Brazil, from November 6 to 8. The summit will focus on “Parliaments for a just world and a sustainable planet.” Discussions will cover the role of parliaments in combating hunger, poverty, and inequality, promoting sustainable development, and shaping global governance for 21st-century challenges.

The Indian delegation includes Rajya Sabha member Manoj Kumar Jha, PC Mody, Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha, and Utpal Kumar Singh, Secretary-General of Lok Sabha. The P20 platform, established at the 2018 Summit, allows parliamentary leaders to contribute to G20 decisions. India is recognized as an active G20 partner.

The P20 Engagement Group, initiated during Canada’s 2010 Presidency, involves G20 parliamentary leaders to enhance global cooperation and implement international agreements. The ninth P20 Summit took place in New Delhi, India, in October 2023, with the theme “Parliaments for One Earth, One Family, One Future,” inspired by the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
