Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been actively overseeing the preparations for Chhath Puja at ITO ghat, with over 1000 locations being readied for the festival. MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj criticized the BJP for allegedly preventing worship at certain sites, highlighting the presence of police and CRPF at Chirag Delhi Chhath Ghat. Atishi accused the Delhi Development Authority, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, of obstructing celebrations by closing gates at Greater Kailash. She announced a public holiday on November 7, emphasizing the festival’s importance for Delhi’s residents. Chhath Puja, celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Nepal, involves strict rituals and fasting to honor the Sun God.
