Chinese Military Aircraft Enter Taiwan’s Air Defense Zone

On November 2, the Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported that over 20 Chinese military aircraft, including Su-30 and KJ-500 models, were detected near Taiwan. Eleven of these aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering the northern, central, and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) as part of air-sea joint training exercises with other Chinese naval vessels.

From Thursday to Saturday, five additional Chinese aircraft and two naval vessels were detected around Taiwan, with five aircraft crossing into the southwestern ADIZ. The MND has been actively monitoring and responding to these activities.

On Friday, no Chinese military activity was detected around Taiwan. The United States and South Korea expressed concerns over China’s military exercises, emphasizing the importance of stability in the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan, an independent state since 1949, is claimed by China as its territory.

Doubts Revealed

Taiwan -: Taiwan is an island located in East Asia, near China. It has its own government and operates like an independent country, but China claims it as part of its territory.

Chinese Military Aircraft -: These are airplanes used by China’s military forces. They can be used for defense, attack, or surveillance purposes.

Air Defense Identification Zone -: This is a designated area in the sky where a country monitors and controls aircraft to ensure its security. It’s like a protective bubble in the airspace around a country.

Taiwan Strait -: The Taiwan Strait is a body of water that separates Taiwan from mainland China. It’s an important and sometimes tense area because of the political situation between Taiwan and China.

1949 -: In 1949, the Chinese Civil War ended, and the losing side, the Nationalists, retreated to Taiwan. Since then, Taiwan has been self-governing, but China still claims it as part of its territory.

U.S. and South Korea -: The U.S. (United States) and South Korea are countries that are concerned about peace and stability in the region. They often express their views on international matters like the situation between China and Taiwan.
