In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, visited the injured jawans who were hurt during an encounter in Khanyar. The encounter, which ended on Saturday evening, resulted in the death of a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander and injuries to four security personnel.

IGP Birdi assured the injured jawans of full support throughout their recovery. He expressed concern for their well-being and acknowledged their contributions to maintaining peace in the region. The Kashmir Zone Police shared this update on social media platform X.

Details of the Encounter

IGP Birdi provided details about the encounter, stating that the operation had concluded with the killing of a terrorist identified as Usman, a commander of LeT. Usman was involved in the murder of Inspector Masroor, and further investigations are ongoing.

Another Encounter in Anantnag

In a separate operation in Anantnag district, two terrorists were killed by security forces. The operation was initiated based on specific inputs and involved the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF. The encounter began when suspicious movements were observed near Halkan Gali, leading to an exchange of fire.

The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the successful elimination of the terrorists and stated that the operation is still in progress.
